Rough in the Diamond

I'm back in brainstorm mode; so I've been thinking up some new song concepts. It's refreshing to nurture my creative muscle get back to something that is the very core of me. I continue to vet artists for the Live Through Music compilation album as well as mentor my A&R who is developing an up and coming artist on the label. Unfortunately, I missed my milestone of posting music to Soundcloud, but that is due to me going through the copyright process. I can't complain with how things are shaping out for this year. As with anyone else, I overcame obstacles, both professional and personal, so I believe that I will end the year on a positive note.

Stay tuned for more updates, the Live Through Music site will be up early next year, hopefully the company website will be redesigned and look for music from my project 'A Confined Individual' and my up and coming artist.

On the Cusp

I will be posting some new music clips on soundcloud and one other site TBA. Currently, I am finalizing the lineup of my company's compilation album, working on a marketing and promotion plan for the album, as well as beats for my project and another artist on my roster. The legal aspect of all of this can be frustrating sometimes. Nearly all of the music recorded and waiting to be mastered, however, I'm not doing any of that until I get all of the contracts back. So far, two of them are in hand, the rest should be in hand by next week. The plan is have this out by November, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed, that there are no other hiccups.

Look out for the music clips and more news about the Live Through Music mix tape, my album A Confined Individual, and other artists that I'm eyeing or working with.

Back to Basics

I had a recent recording session that was very rewarding and inspiring. Working with dedicated artists and individuals is very refreshing. We were able to record 5 songs and and get a rough mix on them within the span of 6 hrs; and that was even after jamming out to some tracks for an hour and a half. I've been re-energized on the production front. Currently, I'm working on three beats and I have concepts for 4 more that will either end up on the Live Through Music mix tape or my A Confined Individual album. This Live Through Music mix tape is very important to me as an artist and as a businessperson. It will showcase talent that is both up and coming and diamond in the rough. Due to jumping in with blinders on when I worked on previous projects, I am being prudent in developing this project and interacting with the artists involved. I was burned because I was too accommodating and tried to be more friend than CEO and mentor. Embarking on this new journey and outlook has me in a good place. I can't wait for this project to be complete and ready for public consumption because it will be an experience you want to share with everyone.

Push Through Darkness

Man! Wearing all of these hats can be tiring sometimes. I hope everyone's 4th of July was as fun as mine was. Hung out with family and life long friends-nothing better. Returned back to NY and got straight back to work. There's nothing like being in creative mode. Working on a track right now with ideas for five more. With everything that is going on, it is a miracle that I can weed out the unnecessary distractions and focus on music. Going back to the studio soon to put the finishing touches on a revamped track and mix in the new hook for Summary. I'm also writing everyday, so my lyrical muscle is rebuilding itself. Next challenge is getting back on the stage and put some more work into my live performance; that is one area that I can admit needs improvement.

Thank you to everyone for your support and well wishes.

Back to Me

I've been going through a lot of things lately. After a self imposed drought caused by lack of inspiration and idiotic distractions, I feel like I am back on track. As an artist, I'm focusing on myself by writing down something music related everyday, making beats, and making connections that are not just self serving. As a business person, I'm focusing on getting the Live Through Music mix tape completed and finding new talent. So far everything is going well; I have committed artists making good music and I'm even putting some teaser tracks of my own on this project. I'm in a good place personally and professionally. I'm making sure that I do not make the same mistakes as I had in the past. Basically, I'm back on track, writing and making new music, working with artists who are ready to work and committed to growth, and poised to make my musical footprint a firm and impactful one.
